Progressive Educational systems Inc. attends as many provincial, state, board, district and national trade shows, conferences and workshops as possible.

Progressive Educational Systems understands the importance of well trained instructors. A properly trained instructor is better prepared to properly train their students. As such we will be hosting our annual Summer Institute over 2 weeks in August at our Progressive School of Technology (PST) in Belleville, Ontario. This year we will be featuring a number of different but equally important classes. These courses are available to the teaching staff of any school, even if they do not presently own Learning systems.

Week 1 - August 14 - 17

Class A - Solar PV installation certification

Description: Using Progressive's own training system and ETA certified curriculum, participants will progress throughout the week to write a certification exam on the final day...if desired.

Topics include: Safety, Electrical Codes, System components, Sitting, System design, Maintenance and Troubleshooting.

Pre-Requisites: Good understanding of basic electrical systems.

Equipment: Progressive 07-3234 Small Wind & Solar PV Installation Training System

Course Length: 35 Hours

Daily Schedule: Tuesday-Thurs 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; Fri. 8:00 am to 12:00pm; 1:00 - 3:30 ETA Certification Exam.

Course Tuition: $1,295.00 (if not included with equipment purchase)

Exam Fee: $150 (For those who wish to write the exam)

Course Features: Includes course tuition, lunch, course materials, lodging for 3 nights and certificate of completion for 36 hours.

 

Class B - Introduction to Renewable Energy.

Description: Using Progressive's own training systems, participants will progress throughout the week to explore the basics of wind, solar, biodiesel, hydrogen, geothermal and solar thermal systems.

Topics include: Safety, System Components, Sitting, Design, Biodiesel Production, Reversible Hydrogen fuel cell, Geothermal basic operation, Solar Thermal basics.

Pre-Requisites: Good understanding of basic electrical systems.

Equipment: Progressive 07-1100 Wind and Solar Training System, 07-2100 BioDiesel Module, 07-3264 Geothermal Training System, 07-3274 Solar Thermal Training System.

Course Length: 30 Hours

Daily Schedule: Tuesday-Thurs 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; Fri. 8:00 am to 12:00pm

Course Tuition: $995.00 (if not included with equipment purchase)

Course Features: Includes course tuition, lunch, course materials, lodging for 3 nights and certificate of completion for 36 hours. participants will recieve a solar powered wind turbine desk model.

 

Class C - 3D Modelling

Description: Use SolidWorks to design 3D models and print them on a 3D Printer. Use a hand held scanner to scan and print an object.

Topics include:

Pre-Requisites: Basic understanding of CAD an asset.

Equipment: SolidWorks 2011-2012, BFB Touch 3D Printer, David Laser Scanner, Inspirtech Instructional resources.

Course Length: 30 Hours

Daily Schedule: Tuesday-Thurs 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; Fri. 8:00 am to 12:00pm

Course Tuition: $995.00 (if not included with equipment purchase)

Course Features: Includes course tuition, lunch, course materials, lodging for 3 nights and certificate of completion for 36 hours. Participants will recieve a Student Edition copy of SolidWorks as well as an instructor version of Inspirtech.

Course Requirements: Participants are asked to bring their own Laptop to use during the class.


Week 2 - August 21 - 24

Class A - Small Wind installation certification

Class C - CAD/CAM CNC

Description: Learn to use Mastercam to design a variety of projects and cut them on a CNC wood router.

Topics include: Mastercam Design, tool path, post processing, RouterWorks machine set-up.

Pre-Requisites: Basic understanding of CAM an asset.

Equipment: Mastercam, CNC Wood Router.

Course Length: 30 Hours

Daily Schedule: Tuesday-Thurs 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; Fri. 8:00 am to 12:00pm

Course Tuition: $995.00 (if not included with equipment purchase)

Project Fee: $175.00 for Pen set and Electric Guitar Kits.

Course Features: Includes course tuition, lunch, lodging for 3 nights, course materials, and certificate of completion for 36 hours. Participants will recieve a Demo copy of Mastercam.

Course Requirements: Participants are asked to bring their own Laptop to use during the class.
